Dear Parent(s), Greetings! "The beauty of India lies in its diversity and the colourful celebration of its cultures and traditions”. Throughout the entire course of the year, there are no days as delightful as those in the beautiful month of October. There is something magically introspective and peaceful about the changing of seasons, especially the transition from summer to autumn. Let's take a sneak peek into the joyous month of October. Theme – Birds and flowers October heralds a flurry of celebrations, marking the transition from scorching summers to refreshing winters. Children eagerly engage in discovering various birds and flowers during this vibrant month. It's a time steeped in festivities and age-old customs, gracing us with smiles as we honor numerous national and international festivals such as Gandhi Jayanti, Durga Puja, Dusshera, Halloween, and more. The 'Show and Tell' activity became a platform for children to hone their public speaking abilities. They showcased themed props associated with 'Halloween' and articulated a few lines about their chosen items, fostering their communication skills. Verbal Linguistic Language development lays the foundation for reading and writing skills in children as they progress, helping them to communicate, express, and understand. The children have now started expressing their thoughts and ideas with confidence. They practiced the phonic sounds and words related to letters 'Nn and Pp.' They can now recognize letters from 'Aa to Pp' and tell their phonic sounds. They also enjoyed listening to related stories, such as 'The Little Red Hen.' Their vocabulary has been enhanced through audiovisuals, stories, real objects, and practice sheets. Storytelling Storytelling promotes brain development and imagination in children. It also aids in language and emotional development while strengthening relationships. With this in mind, we began the month by narrating ‘Little Red Hen’. Following the story, we engaged the children in “Hand Tracing” to make the hen on paper. Subsequently, we shared the story of ‘The Sun and The Wind, which highlights that soft persuasion can sometimes win over the mightiest power. Logical/Mathematical Logical-mathematical intelligence helps children analyze problems logically, develop critical and creative thinking abilities, process information, and improve concentration. The children learned oral counting from 1 to 20, recognized the number 6, and its quantification. They were introduced to the pattern of wavy lines and the 'star' shape with the help of audiovisuals and workbook pages. The children enjoyed tracing wavy lines in the workbooks and making wavy lines on newspapers with the help of paintbrushes and paint. The concept of 'heavy and light' was taught through an audiovisual presentation and a workbook. Naturalistic Festive season is the most joyous time of the year for everyone. Every festival has its own importance and meaning. It is important to teach children the importance of celebrating festivals. Science Week write up
This Year EYP ‘Science Week’ was observed from 25.10.23 to 31.10.23. We believe that the true essence of learning is when the philosophy seamlessly integrates with the lives of the learner, powering their interpretation of everything that goes around them by constantly relating to their environment. This initiative was undertaken to make the students understand that science is fun wherein students conducted various activities during the entire week under the guidance of class educators. Students of pre-nursery explored the magnets through ‘What’s magnetic‘ activity and were amused to learn the concept of float and sink.
